Windley Contracting has shared the following update:
Windley Contracting Ltd. will be undertaking the replacement of the existing culvert structure at Gladwin Creek on Highway 1 approximately 10 km east of the Village of Lytton at Gladwin Creek. This work is being completed on behalf of the BC Ministry of Transportation and Transit.
Hours of Work: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Saturday
Start Date: October 2025
Estimated Completion: September 2026
During construction, motorists can expect occasional delays and temporary traffic pattern changes.
A detour route will be constructed to allow traffic to bypass the work zone while the new structure is built. Once the detour is in place, traffic will be rerouted and the speed limit will be reduced to 50 km/h for active and inactive work periods.
The Traffic Management Plan has been developed and approved by the Ministry to minimize impacts to the travelling public and ensure safe passage for emergency services, commercial vehicles, and local residents. Emergency services will have access at all times.
Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) will be placed on both approaches to notify drivers of upcoming construction activities and traffic changes. Motorists are asked to observe posted signage and drive with caution through the work zone.
