Mobile library

The TNRL’s Mobile Library, formerly known as the Bookmobile, brings a selection of books and items to rural communities, including Lytton. It has Wi-Fi, self-checkout, and tablets on board. The mobile library doesn’t carry its entire collection on board. Place a hold on any items you wish to pick up on the Thompson-Nicola Regional Library website

The mobile library sets up at Kumsheen ShchEma-meet School every third Thursday from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

History of the library

The Lytton Library first opened its doors on May 27, 1983. It was originally located in a double-wide trailer on Main Street.

The library moved to the new Village Office complex on 4th Street in 2005. From that location, it continued to serve the community for many years.

The library building was destroyed in the Lytton Creek fire on June 30, 2021.
