The Village of Lytton is located at the junction of Highway 12 and Trans-Canada Highway 1.

You can get to Lytton by driving:

  • 110 km north of Hope via Highway 1
  • 65 km south of Lillooet via Highway 12
  • 40 km southwest of Spences Bridge via Highway 1
  • 170 km southwest of Kamloops via Highway 1

Provincial parks

Stein Valley Nlaka'pamux Heritage Park

The Stein Valley is a protected wilderness area of historic and cultural importance to the Nlaka'pamux. It's known for its untouched forests, clear blue rivers and creeks, and ancient Nlaka'pamux pictographs. The park is co-managed by BC Parks and Lytton First Nation.

Skihist Park

Skihist is an overnight camping spot on Highway 1, a few kilometres east of Lytton, with good amenities.  There is a day use area directly across the highway from the campground which has breathtaking views of White Canyon and the Thompson River.

The park gate is open seasonally from May to the end of September. Check camping and facilities for additional dates.

Goldpan Park

Goldpan is a day use area on the banks of the Thompson River off Highway 1, 25 kilometres north of Lytton (or 10 kilometres south of Spences Bridge).

The park is a popular area for fishing during peak season (check regulations), enjoying guided river rafting, and exploring geological and human history.

The Goldpan campground is closed due to slope instability from recent wildfires. The day use area is open for walk-in only.

Lytton Chinese History Museum

The Lytton Chinese History Museum honours the contributions that early Chinese settlers made to the history of Lytton and the surrounding area. The museum has been rebuilt after the 2021 Lytton fire and is open to the public again.

Two Rivers Farmers' Market

The Lytton Two Rivers Farmers' Market is open on Fridays from June to October. Local vendors sell organic produce, handcrafted items, and homemade baking.

Lytton Mayday Celebration

The Lytton Mayday Celebration is a volunteer-led event with pancake breakfasts, a parade, and other family-friendly activities.

Canyon Cruise

The Canyon brings together the old and new custom car enthusiasts along one of B.C.'s most scenic drives through the beautiful Fraser Canyon.

Nlaka'pamux Day Event

On National Indigenous Peoples Day, Lytton First Nation hosts a cultural event with food, shlahal, drumming, dancing, presentations, and more. All are welcome.

2 Rivers Remix

The Remix is a free annual outdoor feast of contemporary Indigenous music and culture. The moveable feast visits Indigenous communities throughout B.C. and marks the anniversary of the June 30 fire in Lytton.

Lytton River Festival

The Lytton River Festival celebrates the Thompson and Fraser rivers and their historic and present role in the community of Lytton. The festival features local and Indigenous artisans, children’s events, great bands, entertainers, and more.

Remembrance Day Ceremony

In 2025, Lytton's Remembrance Day Ceremony returned to Lytton for the first time since 2020. The community service honours those who have served and died in military service.

Nlaka'pamux Remembrance Day Pow Wow

The Nlaka'pamux Remembrance Day Pow Wow is a three-day traditional pow wow organized by community volunteers.

Lytton Christmas parade

In 2025, the Lytton Christmas parade celebrated its 17th anniversary. Organized by Lytton First Nation and the Village of Lytton, the community parade features decorated floats, costumes, festive snacks and warm drinks, and prizes.

CPKC Holiday Train

The CPKC Holiday Train travels through Canada and the United States from mid-November through late December to raise money, food, and awareness to support local food banks.  

The train stops briefly in Lytton and features musical performance. In 2025, Canadian rock icons Barenaked Ladies played in Lytton.
