Loring Way Water Main Upgrades

Find construction and traffic updates and an overview of the Loring Way Water Main Upgrades Project.

Background

Two or three phases of water main upgrades are planned for the upper Village area of Lytton.

Current project

The current phase of the project consists of replacing the watermain and water services in the work zone between the 345 Reservoir, down Loring Way to just above the Lytton Cemetery, and north on West Loring Way, stopping at the end of West Loring Way (see the map below).

Construction will start at the north end of the project, near the reservoir, and then proceed toward the south.

Timing

Construction is expected to last until Christmas 2026.

Construction and traffic impacts

  • Single-lane alternating traffic on Loring Way and West Loring Way may be needed as the project progresses.
  • The contractor will keep residents up to date of any potential short-term road closures that may be needed.  Alternate access routes will be established if road closures are needed.  Access for emergency services will be maintained.
  • Some water service interruptions may be experienced during construction. Whenever possible, the contractor will notify residents of the service interruptions ahead of time.
  • Repaving of Loring Way and Loring Way West will happen in the 2027, when the paving plants reopen.
