Interior Health shared the presentation and recording from the April 30 meeting about the draft health services plan for Lytton.

Interior Health shared the following news release:

Interior Health (IH) is inviting people in the Lytton area to join a community meeting on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, to provide input on its proposed plan for future health care services and a permanent health care facility.

This event is for people to hear about and provide feedback on a proposed health services plan that IH has developed following an extensive community engagement in 2023 and a review of data about how people have been accessing services in Lytton in the past several years. IH is inviting anyone who accesses health care in the Lytton area to participate and all are welcome.

The community meeting will take place on April 30 at the Stein Valley Nlakapamux School, 1675 St Georges Rd., Lytton from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Food and refreshments will be served and door prizes will be drawn!

The meeting will include a welcome and acknowledgement of gratitude to the community followed by an interactive presentation by IH leaders on its concept plan and break-out discussions with participants. Several health service areas and topics will be highlighted during the break-out discussions including:

  • urgent and primary care
  • emergency services and transport
  • mental health and substance use services
  • lab and medical imaging services
  • seniors care, including home health, assisted living
  • community pharmacy
  • capital planning
  • culturally safe services and spaces planning

Health partners including the First Nations Health Authority, BC Emergency Health Services and the Division of Family Practice, have also been invited to the meeting.

Community feedback will help guide decisions about service delivery and the permanent health facility that will be built in Lytton over the next few years.

If community members are unable to attend in person, please email EngageIH@interiorhealth.ca so that we may share the presentation and materials with you. In addition, information about our planning is available on EngageIH.ca/Lytton where questions can be shared directly on that website. IH is committed to keeping people informed about what was heard and we will share information back to the community as we plan next steps.
