Village Update

July 2, 2025

We are continuing to rebuild the road this week.

The pedestrian detour has been removed. There is a path to walk up the roadway on River Road and a walking route up to Fraser Street.

There will be small disruptions to traffic on First Street today to place and pack gravel on the road. Please pay attention to signage and flaggers in the area.

Next week, our work will focus on restoring the road. It's expected to finish by the end of the week.

There may still be traffic disruptions after next week, but they will be brief and affect small areas.

Thanks for continuing to respect workers and signage during construction!

Lytton ferry back in service

Yesterday, Yellowhead Road & Bridge announced that the Lytton ferry is back in service. It is currently restricted to light traffic (maximum GVW 6000 kg) and school buses only due to high water. As water levels drop, this restriction will be removed.

Construction update

The majority of the work has been completed through the narrowest section of road, so walking around the work area will be easier moving forward.

Pedestrians can expect slight delays if large equipment is moving through the site. We don’t expect 20-minute pedestrian delays to be required.

Reminder

For your safety and the safety of construction workers, please respect signage and barricades and avoid walking through the active construction areas.

June 5, 2025

Sewer pipe replacement work is continuing along River Road this week.

If you're walking between the bridge and the Village, expect delays of up to 20 minutes to keep everyone safe during construction.

There’s an alternate walking route from Hobo Hollow to Fraser Street. Traffic management personnel can provide directions.

Only emergency response vehicles can drive into Hobo Hollow right now.

This sewer work is urgent, and we’re working as quickly as possible. Please be respectful to the construction workers and traffic management personnel while the project is underway.

We will share construction updates next week.
