The Village has been asked by recovery funding agencies whether there are residents and/or property owners who may need assistance in the rebuilding of their homes or businesses, specific to financing, planning and permitting.
At this time approximately 20 single family homes have been rebuilt, as well as the Chinese History Museum, Village Public Works Building, and (soon) the Royal Canadian Legion. Approximately 100 homes and businesses were lost in the 2021 fire.
In March 2025, the Village hired a Director of Development, who has a role to assist residents and/or property owners in rebuilding and relocating into the Village.
