The Ministry of Transportation and Transit has provided updates about planned repairs to existing rockfall protection systems along Highway 12 at Texas Creek (also known as Big Slide), approximately 44 km north of Lytton (20 km south of Lillooet).
UPDATED SCHEDULE: Construction will take place from Monday, September 8 to Saturday, October 21, 2025.
Due to limited roadway width, Highway 12 at Big Slide will be closed twice daily during construction, to accommodate the equipment and personal necessary to complete the repairs.

Closed: 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
Open: 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm
Closed: 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Open: 5:00 pm to 8:00 am
Construction and road closures will take place Monday to Saturday. No construction or road closures will take place on Sundays or Statutory Holidays. Highway 12 will only be closed at the Texas Creek project site. Once construction is complete, Highway 12 will be returned to normal conditions.
