Village issues request for proposals for economic development strategy

Type(s)
Village Update

The Village of Lytton is seeking a qualified consulting firm to create a five-year (2027-2032) Economic Development Strategy, focussing on economic drivers other than tourism, which was part of a Destination Development Plan completed in 2025, as well as several pre-fire regional plans.

The successful proponent will have:

  • extensive experience in Economic Development Strategy formulation in smaller BC communities;
  • experience in effective and responsive community engagement;
  • the ability to formulate a clear set of priorities and actions that will support and advance a sustainable and resilient local economy through to 2031 and beyond; and
  • worked on similar strategies for communities that have declined due to the loss of a major employer, and/or external factors such as competing transportation corridors, natural disasters, or changing economies.

The Economic Development Strategy will build on (and not duplicate) the comprehensive and extensive engagement undertaken as part of the Official Community Plan Update
