The Village of Lytton is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the Village’s Public Works Building on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Public Works Building (30 Main Street, Lytton). This celebration is a significant milestone for the Village, as the Public Works Building is the first permanent municipal facility to be rebuilt since the 2021 fire.

Background
Construction of the modular building was funded through $1 million in grant funding from the provincial Ministry of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness and $52,328 from the Village’s resources.
Blue Collar Modular was selected through a competitive request for proposal process to construct the building.
The Village continues to make progress on rebuilding several other municipal buildings and other capital projects. For example:
- The architectural drawings for the Village Office are 50 per cent complete.
- The Village is working with the architects and community on design for the Community Hub and will be issuing an RFP for the pool’s design and construction soon.
- A funding application has been submitted for the permanent Fire Hall.
- Water and sewer repairs and infrastructure upgrades are in progress.
