At the Regular Council Meeting on February 10, 2026, Interior Health shared a Lytton health services update (Read the presentation or watch the meeting recording beginning at 2:05).
Following this, Council:

Approved a list of re-profiled water projects to submit for approval under the Union of BC Municipalities Strategic Priorities Fund water grant (which includes both the recent $5 million grant and a residual amount from a historic 2019 grant);

Approved a contract for Extreme Engineering Ltd. for the west of Main Street sewer project from the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Projects grant and approved staff to negotiate additions to the contract for water upgrades in the Centre Lane / 6th and 7th Street area from the Union of BC Municipalities Strategic Priorities Fund grant;

Received a final 2026 budget direction report and directed staff to prepare the Five-Year Financial Plan and budget with an 14 per cent tax rate increase for properties assessed as residential, major industry and commercial / business and other (Read the presentation);

Received an update from staff on Development Services activities, including building and planning inquiries and permits and the Village’s planning and development initiatives (Read the January 2026 Development Services activities report);

Released a letter to the Ministry of Forests about proposed Heritage Conservation Act amendments from a closed Council meeting.
