Village Update

Watch the recordings and learn about next steps

Over the past eight months, the Village has been engaging area residents in the update of Lytton’s Official Community Plan (OCP). This initiative has included invitations to residents, property owners, businesses and surrounding Nlaka’pamux governments to engage and help shape the process, informal engagement booths, an OCP Update launch meeting, a workbook questionnaire, social media, and the recent Community Conversation meetings.

Since February, community members have taken part in seven Community Conversations focussed on the economy, agriculture, food, parks, emergency preparedness, housing, infrastructure and facilities, and identity.

The Village is appreciative of everyone who joined us. Your participation, honesty, and insights will be fundamental in preparing the draft document. We also extend special thanks to Jason Robertson and Raven Dunstan for helping to create a welcoming environment and facilitating sessions with Village staff.

If you couldn’t attend, you can still catch up. More than 700 people have already watched the livestreams and recordings on our YouTube channel. Watch the recordings.

Next steps

Village staff are now compiling summaries from the seven Community Conversations. These summaries will be presented to Council in an upcoming meeting, along with the next steps in the process. A draft document is expected for review and comment by late spring.

The ideas and feedback shared by participants will help shape key policy directions and actions, which will be included in the updated Official Community Plan.
