Village Update
At the community meeting, The Ministry of Transportaiton provided an update
- Highway 12
- currently assembling a team to start project on fixing the slide area. We have geotech review and survey ready to go. See the latest.
- Trans Canada north of Jackass:
- We are still experiencing slides when rain squalls hit the fire scarred areas north of Lytton Process is to have geotech evaluate following a slide to assess for safety of crews following this we conduct the works
- Temporary crossing at Tank Hill will be monitored for smoothness and paving will be addressed as needed
- Nicomen Bridge works have been mostly completed potential for a new bridge project to replace in future.
- Our development services group have been looking at proposed works on Hwy 12 / Main Street Lytton and will continue to work with reinstatement team on the Lytton rebuild.
- Still finding it challenging to staff crews for road maintenance at YRB but once connection to Merritt on Hwy 8 is done there will be better coverage.
