Auditor General's Office examining the Province of B.C.'s role in Lytton's ongoing recovery

On May 1, 2024, the Office of the Auditor General announced that they are examining the Province of B.C.'s role in Lytton's ongoing recovery from the 2021 Lytton Creek wildfire.

The examination will focus on three areas:

  • The Province of B.C.'s roles and responsibilities for disaster recovery.
  • The Province of B.C.'s support for Lytton, including the funding it contributed.
  • The challenges faced in rebuilding Lytton, and the Province of B.C.'s opportunities for improvement.

They expect to release a report on their findings in early 2025.
