Village Update
On March 13, staff loaded supplies into the Village's Emergency Support Services (ESS) trailer. This included cots, non-perishable food, water, and equipment to cook and provide power in the event of an emergency. This unit has the ability to support around 38 people, depending on needs. One of the goals of Lytton's emergency program is to build a network of community members, who can operate this unit in the event of an emergency.
What is Emergency Support Services (ESS)?
Emergency Support Services is a provincial program delivered by Indigenous governing bodies and local authorities (like the Village of Lytton) to meet the basic needs of British Columbians impacted by disasters by providing short-term support in a compassionate manner.
