At the Regular Council Meeting on August 11, 2026, Council:

Received the June 30, 2026, financial results report providing updates on the actual results compared to budget for the first six months of 2026, as well as the recovery grants, deferred revenue, and reserves. (Read the presentation).

Received a report with updates on community signage initiatives, including comments received from staff and approximately 10 community members at meetings on July 13, 2026; Council approved six recommendations to proceed with developing a welcome sign, visual identity and tagline, wayfinding signs, interpretive signs, commemoration signs, and signage with local events with input from local interests, including community members, the Lytton Museum & Archives, and Lytton & District Chamber of Commerce (Read the presentation);

Received an update from staff and approved the Engagement & Communications Plan for the Village of Lytton Economic Development Strategy, which Rynic Strategy Solutions will complete in collaboration with the community by the end of this year (Read the presentation);

Adopted Permissive Tax Exemption Bylaw No. 784, 2026; and

Released an item from a Closed Council Meeting on July 28, 2026, approving the Community Hub Operations Advisory Group (OAG) terms of reference. As the Community Hub is envisioned as an essential asset for the broader Lytton community, the OAG will provide guidance to the Village of Lytton Council on key decisions required to ensure that programming meets the needs of all residents.
The Village will seek representation on the OAG from the Lytton First Nation, Skuppah Indian Band, Siska Indian Band, Kanaka Bar Indian Band, Nicomen Indian Band, Cook’s Ferry Indian Band, and the Thompson–Nicola Regional District, as well as the Village of Lytton.
