At their meeting on March 11, 2025, Council:

  • Approved a water grant reprofile and authorized staff to send it to the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) for approval;

    • Reprofiling means reallocating or moving unspent funds to subsequent  years to reflect changes in the timing or priorities for a project. 

    • UBCM approved two grants from the Strategic Priorities Fund for Village of Lytton water system improvements: a $5 million grant in 2023 and a grant of more than $1.5 million in 2019, from which two claims have been submitted. 

    • UBCM has asked the Village to submit a list of projects for funding under one combined grant.

    • The Village is waiting for delivery of a consultant’s report with recommendations for specific water system improvements to be funded by the combined grant. 

  • Received a presentation on 2025 property tax rates (Read an article about 2025 budget process below);

  • Received an update on Development Services activities, including building permit and development applications and inquiries to the end of February 2025; and

  • Received a presentation on the Village’s Emergency Management Program.

Village updating Zoom meeting procedures

Due a recent Zoom "bombing" (inappropriate, disruptive intrusion) during this week's Council meeting, we will be changing our meeting procedures to ensure a more secure and controlled environment. We will share new procedures with the community before the April 8 meeting.
