Village Update

At the Regular Council Meeting on Tuesday, March 26, Lytton Council:

  • Approved the draft 2024-2028 Five-Year Financial Plan and directed staff to prepare the 2024-2028 Five-Year Financial Plan Bylaw and 2024 Tax Rate Bylaw based on the draft Five-Year Financial Plan (Download the presentation);
  • Directed staff to award two contracts related to recent requests for proposals, including:
    • A contract of up to $50,000 to Exton Dodge Land Surveying Inc. to complete survey services to replace the pins that were lost or destroyed during backfilling in Zones 1 to 6 in the Village and contour/topographic mapping and surveying of previously unsurveyed properties; and
    • A contract for $13,100 to BTY Consultancy Group to develop a capital costs estimate for the feasibility study/concept plan for community infrastructure funded through $64 million committed by Infrastructure Canada from the Green and Inclusive Community Buildings Program.

Council did not approve a resolution for CN Rail and BC Hydro to install and connect an upgraded power line over O'Dwyer Park (Lytton Park) to connect the CN Rail Yard to the power grid, which before the fire was supplied through 500 Fraser Street; instead, they directed staff to approach BC Hydro for an updated report on the master plan for the Village of Lytton, including hydro access to the CN Rail Yard.
