Water Notices and Updates
For residents and businesses of Lytton

The planned water shut-down scheduled for Monday, September 14, 2026, has been cancelled.

The planned water shut-down for Tuesday, September 15, 2026, is still scheduled to proceed as Rivermist Excavating Ltd. completes a watermain tie-in and repair.

Tuesday, September 15, 2026: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Areas affected:
  • Lytton First Nation IR 17
  • Han Knakst Tsitxw Society Helping Hands Transition House

Every effort will be taken to turn the water service back on as soon as possible. This work is required to perform critical system maintenance and infrastructure upgrades, and we are working to complete it as quickly and safely as possible.

Be prepared

  • Store water: Fill jugs, pots and a kettle before the shut down begins. Allow for drinking, cooking and sanitation.
  • Plan ahead: Run dishwashers and laundry before the shut down starts.
  • Protect equipment: Turn off hot water tanks, humidifiers and any water-dependent appliances.
  • Close taps: Make sure all taps are closed so there is no overflow when service returns.
  • Flush lines: Run your cold water taps for 1–2 minutes once service is restored to clear any sediment or air. Discoloured water should clear shortly.

Conserve water

Residents in the downtown area are asked to conserve water during these shut-offs, as the Village will be relying on water from the reservoir. Avoid outdoor water use, such as watering lawns.

We thank you for your patience and cooperation.
