Village Update

At their meeting on September 9, 2025, Council:

  • Received an update from Film Commissioner Terri Hadwin about the role, activities, and accomplishments of the Thompson–Nicola Film Commission (Read the presentation);
  • Adopted the Village of Lytton’s Emergency Response and Recovery Plan and delegated the authority to the emergency program coordinator to make changes to the plan as needed;
  • Received the August 2025 Development Services activities update, which provides an overview of building and development permit inquiries and permits, and planning and development initiatives;
  • Received the Communications and Engagement Plan for the Official Community Plan update; 
  • Approved the purchase of the Spartan/Anderson fire engine for $1, which was donated by the former Seton Valley Fire Department. The new apparatus has the ability to pump large quantities of water from the Fraser River and will help improve Lytton Fire & Rescue's operational capabilities; and
  • Released an item from a closed meeting: appointment of Kyle Parker as Fire Chief for Lytton Fire & Rescue.
