Emergency preparedness
In the event of an emergency or major disaster, you should be prepared to be self-sufficient for at least 72 hours or to evacuate on short notice.
To get prepared, it's important to:
- Understand the potential hazards
- Create an emergency plan
- Prepare an emergency kit or grab-and-go bag (in case you need to leave in a hurry)

Sign-up for emergency alerts with Voyent Alert!
Community members are encouraged to sign up for emergency alerts using the Voyent Alert! notification system. This service is free, easy to use, and anonymous. You can sign up for text (SMS), phone call, or email alerts.
While the Village of Lytton does not issue its own alerts, you can sign up with your Village of Lytton home or business address and receive alerts from the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) and/or Lytton First Nation. This will help you stay informed if there are any large-scale emergencies, evacuation orders, or alerts in the area.
