Village Update
At the Regular Council Meeting on July 9, BC Hydro provided a post-wildfire infrastructure update.
Following, this Village of Lytton Council:
- Authorized the application for capital funding to Infrastructure Canada for the Community Hub project;
- Received the monthly Development Services Activity Report (download the presentation);
- Received OCP Permit Areas Project Report 4 and associated documents (download the presentation);
- Deferred any decision about the CN Railyard hydro connection, until the Village does further consultation with BC Hydro;
- Formally declared the intended service level for Lytton Fire & Rescue Service (LFRS) to be exterior operations only, as described in the draft Lytton Fire Rescue Services Policy #2024-03;
- Released two items from the closed Council meeting on June 25, including approving a contract for a Capital Projects Accountant for 20 hours per week and approving a Fire & Rescue volunteer firefighter application.
In response to correspondence, Council agreed to:
- Provide a cash commitment of $1,000 and in-kind support of $5,600 for the Lytton River Festival;
- Write a letter of support for the proposed addition of land to Inkluckcheen Indian Reserve No. 21; and
- Work with David Beddows to allow the car club and classic car trip to Lytton on September 21, 2024.
The next Regular Council Meeting is on Tuesday, July 23 at 7 p.m. at the Parish Hall and on Zoom. The agenda package will be posted on CivicWeb by the end of the day on Friday, July 19.
