Request for Mail-in Ballot

This collection of personal information is authorized under Part 3 of the Local Government Act (“LGA”) and the Village of Lytton Election Procedures Bylaw No. 708, 2022 and will be used for the sole purpose of administering the local government elections.

Your personal information may be disclosed pursuant to sections 110 and 160 of the LGA. Questions can be addressed to the Chief Election Officer at elections@lytton.ca or 604-698-5753.

Personal information is collected by the Village of Lytton pursuant to section 26(c) of the British Columbia Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c.165. Information collected is used solely for:

Fulfilling mail ballot voting requests for the 2026 general local election; and
Keeping sufficient records so that challenged to an elector's right to vote may be made, per Sections 110(6) and 126 of the Local Government Act.

18 years of age or older on October 17, 2026

A Canadian citizen

A resident of British Columbia for a least the last six months

A resident of the Village of Lytton (for any length of time) OR an owner of real property in the Village of Lytton for at least the last 30 days

Not disqualified by law from voting in an election or otherwise disqualified by law

I understand and acknowledge that:

As an elector for the Village of Lytton, I am solely responsible for ensuring that my mail ballot is received by the Chief Election Officer (or designate) by no later than 8 p.m. on October 17, 2026, to have it counted in the 2026 general local election.

Once my mail ballot package has been accepted by the Chief Election Officer (or designate), I will only be eligible to vote by mail ballot and not in person. The Village’s voting books will indicate that I have received a mail ballot.
