At the Regular Council Meeting on August 25, 2026, Council:

Received the August 2026 update on capital projects, including the Community Hub, Fire and Emergency Services Building, Village Office, and water and sewer infrastructure projects;

Approved a new Tangible Capital Asset Policy 2026-02, which formally establishes how the Village will account for capital assets in accordance with recognized public sector accounting standards;

Received an Official Community Plan Update progress report, timeline update, youth engagement overview, and Young Adult Survey summary and findings (read the article below);

Renewed a Temporary Use Permit for a concrete batch plant and processing facility located at 1120N Trans-Canada Highway until September 8, 2029; and

Approved a Development Variance Permit for the Village Office at 380 Main Street to permit zero front and side yard setbacks to ensure a consistent and welcoming streetscape along Main Street and a design similar to the previous (pre-fire) Village Office.
