At the Regular Council Meeting on May 26, 2026, there were two delegations to Council:

Presentation of the Village's 2025 audited financial statements from BDO Canada LLP (See the presentation of financial statement highlights), and

Strategic recommendations for expanding the Village of Lytton’s demographics from students at the University of the Fraser Valley (Read the presentation).
In addition, Council:

Received the May 2026 update on capital projects, including the Village Office, Community Hub, Fire and Emergency Services Centre, and water and sewer infrastructure upgrades;

Received a report and approved matching contributions of $33,250 and $25,000 respectively to support the Village’s applications to the Northern Development Initiative Trust to fund an accessible washroom at Pocket Park and a downtown revitalization plan;

Received an Official Community Plan Update Progress Report, including a summary of Community Conversation themes (Read the article below);

Directed staff to issue a request for proposal for qualified consultants to prepare an economic development strategy (Read the Council report and presentation);

Gave third reading to Zoning Amendment Bylaw (500 Fraser St+R1S) No. 780, 2026;
-
Adopted Official Community Plan Amendment (Seventh Street) No. 782 2026; and
-
Released a resolution from the May 12, 2026, Closed Council Meeting to approve the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) job description (See a link to the job posting below).
