Village Update

At their meeting on August 12, 2025, Council:

  • Received an update about Village of Lytton staffing, which has evolved over the last year to meet current recovery and operational needs (See the current organizational chart) ;
  • Approved the terms for the Request for Proposal (RFP) for the design/build of the Community Hub pool, including required mechanical systems and health requirements, and authorized staff to post the RFP on BC Bid;
  • Approved the purchase of a Ford F-150 Lightning Flash Electric Vehicle for municipal operations to be funded from the Local Government Climate Action Program reserve;
  • Received a report about Building Amendment Bylaw No. 771, 2025 (and later gave first three readings to the bylaw) to exempt the Village of Lytton from building permit application fees, permit fees, and any other charges outlined in the bylaw; this change will eliminate redundant internal billing, streamline municipal projects, and align Lytton’s practices with those of other municipalities;
  • Received an update on building, planning, and development activities to the end of July 2025 (Download the Development Services activity update);
  • Received a comprehensive water system infrastructure evaluation report, which identifies needs and priorities for the water system  (Read the presentation), and authorized staff to prioritize investigating watermain concerns at 265 Zone Reservoir and discuss a change order for Twin Con Construction to help investigate these concerns;
  • Received a letter from Minister of Health Josie Osborne about partnering to strengthen health care recruitment.
