Mail ballot voting allows eligible voters to receive a ballot package by mail and to vote from home, rather than attending the advance voting day or general voting day in person.
All eligible voters may request a mail ballot.
Voting by mail ballot
First, you need to apply by October 15, 2026, at 4 p.m. to request a mail ballot to be sent to you (see steps below).
Requesting a mail ballot does not count as voting.
Then, once you receive your mail ballot package, you need to complete and return your mail ballot for it to be counted.
Completed mail ballots must be received by the Village no later than 8 p.m. on October 17, 2026.
How to request a mail ballot
Applications are accepted from September 21, 2026, at 4 p.m. to October 15, 2026, at 4 p.m.
The easiest option is to complete the online mail ballot request form.
Alternatively, you can:
- complete a mail ballot application at the Village Office (769 S Trans-Canada Highway), or
- email the Chief Elections Officer at elections@lytton.ca to request a mail ballot application.
Returning your mail ballot application
If you do not apply online, you can return your completed mail ballot application:

Drop it off at the Village Office (769 S Trans-Canada Highway) during regular business hours, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding statutory holidays
Identification requirements
Two pieces of identification are required to verify your identity and place of residence. At least one piece of identification must include your signature.
- If you are applying by email, attach photos or scanned copies of 2 pieces of identification.
- If you are applying by mail, include photocopies of 2 pieces of identification.
- If you are applying in person, bring 2 pieces of identification.
