At the Regular Council Meeting on July 28, 2026, Council:

Received the July 2026 update on capital projects, including the Village Office, Community Hub, Fire and Emergency Services Centre, and water and sewer infrastructure;

Received the key performance indicator (KPI) report for the second quarter of 2026 (to the end of June), which provides updates on progress towards targets in the Village’s annual plan. Find the annual plans and KPI reports on our website);

Received a report on 2027 Permissive Tax Exemptions and Council gave first three readings to the Permissive Tax Exemption Bylaw No. 784, 2026 later in the meeting; and

Approved selection of Rynic Strategic Solutions in partnership with John Watson following the evaluation of proposals to create an economic development strategy for the Village. The community-driven strategy, which will be completed this year, is intended to be actionable and realistic for the Village and to identify quick wins and other economic opportunities to complement the 2024 tourism-focussed Destination Development Plan.
