Council Briefs
At the Regular Council Meeting on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, Sergeant Scott Clay, Detachment Commander provided an RCMP update.
Following this, Council:
- Received a report on the Village’s key performance indicators for the first quarter of 2025;
- Received the April 2025 update on the Village’s key capital projects;
- Received a report about the 2025 Tax Rates Bylaw (read the presentation) and later gave first three readings to Tax Rates Bylaw No. 768, 2025;
- Gave first three readings to Zoning Amendment Bylaw 766, 2025 (320 Main Street);
- Adopted the Financial Plan 2025–2029 Bylaw No. 767, 2025; and
- Received a letter about the Canyon Cruise on May 18, 2025, and directed staff to get clarification about the map, encourage organizers to connect with the May Weekend Organizing Committee and subsequently provide specific requests to the Village.
There was a late addition to the agenda, which Council considered at the end of the meeting (watch the recording at 1:15:42), and Council:
- Endorsed a funding application (in collaboration with the Two Rivers Community Services Society) for Pocket Park amenities, including a shade structure, picnic tables, and landscaping/xeriscaping.
